The idea to write
about DANCE never crossed my mind. Honestly,
even after seeing all three parts of “STEP UP” lol. However, deep inside, I
knew that I have to write about it so all night long I was going through all my
favourite DANCE videos from YouTube, after watching few videos, instead of
writing something I started dancing instead. That's the ‘Effect’, DANCE and
music have on me. So after having late-night dinner I stumbled upon a video of
a newborn taking its first step, and then went through all of them one by one
... and I saw an incredible move or step, we did to start walking, maybe it’s
just me, or my vision to see DANCE in all forms of life, but I know “MJ” will
agree with me that we all Danced to walk the first walk. To my passion mixed
with my “vodka tonic” humour, I also named that step “the baby woggle” lol.
Alternatively, you can also call it “baby krumping” have you seen when an infant takes a
first step, see it, and if you feel the same way then you to have the vision to
see the DANCE in all forms of life.
So why do we forget that we accomplished our first and the most
difficult huddle “to walk” with the help of DANCE, all other problems and
unnecessary huddles we create with our own knack to invite confusion and
self-made silly dilemmas, these invisible barricades don’t stand a chance if we
even DANCE within our hearts. It
can break the barriers of depression, anger and anxiety.
Do you run?, just sprint?, ... not only it’s good for your heart
or lungs or helps you burn
some calories, but it releases an endogenous morphine which is created within
our own bodies called “endorphin." It’s our bodies “natural opiates” they trigger the same nerve cells like morphine, in other words, they say
that having a habit of running every day helps you decrease the perception of
pain, helps you build a concrete immune system and reduce stress, same goes for
DANCE. It helps in create lots of endorphins within our bodies, not only that,
endorphins are also triggered with excitement and pain so when your dancing in
happiness or sadness you are developing twice as much as endorphins than
regular running..So I would advise if you get a promotion or demotion, if you
feel angry or happy...JUST DANCE. The best outlet for all the waste emotions is
our ability to DANCE. If you are two left feet why feel ashamed about it, look
around you, everybody is already dancing on the song called ‘life’. And I can
only ask them to refer this quote, ‘we all are fools, whether we DANCE or not
so rather DANCE’, it’s a Japanese quote... We all forget to feel our
heartbeat... feel your heartbeat. You already have a ‘boom box' right inside
you... your life and people’s life around you changes with every single
heartbeat, so learn to DANCE on it and move on.... J
For me DANCE means turning into something that I always want to be sometimes a “passionate lover,''' sometimes a 'proud son,''" sometimes a 'loyal friend." To me, it connects me to all the corners of this world, wherever music has its reach, something that makes me feel normal and natural, makes me feel that I’m part of something huge and epic, which has rich cultural values and heritage. Even archaeology depicts that there were traces of DANCE in pre-historic times. Nine thousand years-old rock shelters of Bhimbetka paintings or Egyptian tomb paintings they all depict the traces of DANCE. During old times DANCE was also used to create an ecstatic state of mind for many ancient healing rituals. In fact, still used in few rainforests in Brazil and also some traces of such acts are seen in Kalahari Desert. Our lands (INDIA) amazing heritage, is “shastriya” (classical) DANCE, the art of mudra’s and hand gestures to narrate short stories... Our classical DANCE form has the strongest facial expressions to even
depict objects, weather, nature or emotion, and it is considered as the integral part of shastriya DANCE. From Sri Lankan devil DANCE to ballet, or from bhangra to African American DANCE.... we all get the point, that DANCE has injected deeper in our life’s and had also molded our life in better shape in the past, Its even deeper than any religion or cast, we just have to infiltrate every essence of DANCE in our blood and see what sparks it creates to make our life from the grotesque and ugly to delightful and sublime, But we have forgotten that, it’s there, but we are just enough blinded not to see it. So I have just made a small effort to make this video to inject you all with lots of love, passion, devotion, friendship... through DANCE.
